A GREAT hummingbird food is just plain sugar water. If you have already established a hummingbird feeder, then switch over to a simple syrup. They will go crazy! It's also much better for them than store bought hummingbird food. Just take 4 cups of water and 1 cup of sugar and heat it until the sugar is dissolved. I keep mine in a pitcher in the refrigerator. The syrup will keep up to 2 weeks. Change out your feeder about every two days. Rinse it out well and then put more syrup in. I generally don't fill mine all the way. I fill it up about a quarter since I change it quite frequently. Once you have an established feeder, then please try to keep it up. Hummingbirds will begin to rely on the constant energy source.

Hummingbirds are so fun to watch. If you listen closely, then you will here their little chirps. There are many people who think they don't make a sound or any sounds they make are because of their wings. They can be quite loud. I can hear them in my kitchen when the sliding door is open and I know they are at the feeder.
