When we built our house, one of the first things I did was to plant a fig tree in memory of my grandmother's brother ~ Salvatore Gussion or Uncle Toto. He would bring me figs every summer from his fig tree and I would love them. I also have a grape vine planted in my grandfather's memory ~ Odie McGaha Sr.. My grandfather had two really long rows of grape vines that had purple, green and red grapes on them and I loved to eat them during the summer while I was running around the yard.
